"Lenten Companioning"
And the Disciples said, "Teach Us to Pray."

The Regional Spiritual Life Ministry meets at least once a year in person to plan for Retreats at Camp Christian and to discuss possible new ministries for the Spiritual Life of Ohio. We also meet at the Minister's Retreat in February and have had some phone conference calls.

In 2008 we had the traditional Ministers' Regional Spiritual Life Retreat at Camp Christian in February. This retreat was called "Walking the Path" and was led by Pastor Kerry Reed from Gender Rd. Christian Church. There were 17 in attendance and it was a wonderful retreat. Some of the ministers went to Camp the night before and paid extra for the rest and relaxation.

Revs Margot Connor and Kay McGlinchey led a one day Women's Lenten Retreat and also an Advent Retreat will be held in December. Some also come to camp the night before for a "slumber party."

We have added this year a new five day Silent Retreat led by Carol Vaccariello and assisted by me (for an additional Spiritual Director) that was held at Camp October 26-30, 2009. This retreat offered a new opportunity for Spiritual Direction and was open to the whole region, not just ministers. We are excited to introduce new ways of praying and being contemplative. We are thrilled to have the very qualified pastor & counselor Carol Vaccariello in leadership.

We also have a new Men's Spiritual Life Mini-Retreat led by the Reverends Harry Bolen and Nik Donges.  This retreat will be open to all men, ministers and laity alike.

We feel we are expanding the programs at camp for creating community and giving new opportunity for ministers and laity to deepen their Christian Spirituality. We hope and pray that God will bring in all of this, Transformation of body, mind and spirit. It is an effort to reach out beyond those we have been able to touch through the Ministers' Retreat to include other ministers and the laity of the church in Ohio and beyond.
